On September 29, 2020, Fahrusha was happy to welcome David Perkins back to “Shattered Reality Podcast” for his second visit this year. David is a talented researcher of cattle mutilations, UFOs and now drones in the southwest of the US. He is a 1968 graduate of Yale University majoring in American Studies and Political Science. This episode is in the form of a bulletin because this situation is current and ongoing and deserving of attention.

They discussed the interrelationship of cattle mutilations, fracking, UFOs, black helicopters and currently drones. There is a case to be made that all these things are very much linked. The lackadaisical attitude adopted by government officials is truly astounding in light of the fact that these drones are often intruding on sensitive airspace, especially nuclear reactors and nuclear missile sites.

Perkins, an astute observer, has studied anomalous phenomena in the Southwest since 1975 and is extremely well versed and expert on these subjects.

On November 5, 2019 Fahrusha was very pleased to welcome Dr. Massimo Teodorani to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. Later in the broadcast he is joined by Susan Demeter St. Clair, our recent guest and his newlywed wife.

Dr. Teodorani is an astrophysicist, bestselling author, and an electronic musician under the pseudonym “Totemtag”. He obtained his “Laurea” degree in Astronomy and his Ph.D. in Stellar Physics at the University of Bologna. His book, The Hyperspace of Consciousness is readable and available to the non-scientists among us and brings up a number of fascinating conjectures that we could have spent several days discussing.

In short, the discussion ranged from quantum physics and its relationship to the material mechanistic 4D reality we inhabit, to the existence of a Big Library (a sort of Akhashic Record) and a Universe completely suffused with non-local intelligence, to the concept that what we call “UFOs” might really be self-organizing intelligent plasmas.

Toward the end of the show, we were joined by Susan Demeter St. Clair and we opined about the nature of the intelligences behind UFOs. Are they benign, evil-intentioned, tricksters or all of the above. How much have they harmed or helped humanity and the Earth. Do humans have a secret agenda in mischaracterizing these sightings?

Fahrusha was happy to welcome Dr. James McClenon to Shattered Reality Podcast for the second time to discuss the different way that a sociologist researches paranormal and anomalous experiences. He was the guest on an earlier show in which he discusses his excellent book The Entity Letters, A Sociologist on the Trail of a Supernatural Mystery.

We covered a variety of topics from healing to shamanism to UFOs to out of body experiences and extrasensory perception but with a focus on the near death experience (NDE), all from the perspective of sociology. McClenon worked by collecting the extraordinary experiences of individuals by distributing questionaires. He had his students distribute questionaires as well. At first most of the answers came from a rural area in North Carolina where he taught. Later he distributed questionaires from a teaching cruise ship that sailed around the world making stops at a variety of locations. The conclusions he came to were from a different point of view than those of parapsychologists, philosophers or physicists. It was very refreshing to look at these subjects from a differing perspective. Most surprising, perhaps, is his assertion that in other cultures individuals don’t necessarily remember their near death experiences as paradigm changing events that were hyper-real. As a person who has had transcendent experiences but not an NDE, I (Fahrusha) cannot judge this, but it seems counter to other research.

On September 17, 2019 Susan Demeter St.Clair joined Fahrusha on “Shattered Reality Podcast” to speak about UFOs and the folklore of the strange. Susan is a native of Ontario, Canada who is currently residing in Northern Italy. She is a researcher on the UFO phenomena and on European and Native American paranormal folklore especially the Italian Benandanti. The Benandanti were from the Friuli region of Italy of north eastern Italy, although it is thought that the tradition was probably very widespread in slightly varying forms in much of agrarian, Pre-Christian Europe. Meaning literally “the good walkers”, members participated in out of body travels on a number of Thursdays to war against evil forces that might destroy crops. They were also healers. They were viciously persecuted as heretics by the Roman Inquisition.

Varying possible explanations for UFOs and for the famous Philip Experiment (Canada) were discussed. Our interview with Dr. Jim McClenon also mentions the Philip Experiment in the context of the SORRAT Group. Susan was kind enough to share with us her personal UFO experiences that changed the course of her life.

Towards the end of the episode, Fahrusha read an amazing account from a longtime listener who had a life changing UFO experience in western New York State. The listener requested to remain anonymous, something that we at “Shattered Reality Podcast will always respect. On March 26, 2019, Fahrusha interviewed Kate, a loquacious and interesting “Shattered Reality Podcast” listener, about her anomalous experiences in Hudson County, New Jersey. Closer to Manhattan than many parts of the five boroughs of New York City, Hudson County is steeped in its own legends and paranormal happenings. This is a short interview focused on Kate’s family experiences with the world of spiritual after-death contact. We also briefly cover a UFO flap of the ’60s. Think of Budd Hopkins’ recounting of the UFO landing in the park on Boulevard East, it is the same flap.

The interview is relatively short, but we think you will enjoy it. Strangely Kate’s story somewhat mirrors the experiences of another listener we interviewed, June Ponte, from Hudson County.

#85 Owls, UFOs and Synchronicity

On March 12, 2019 Fahrusha welcomed Mike Clelland, an avid outdoorsman, illustrator and UFO researcher, to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. He has written extensively on the subject of owls, UFOs, and synchronicity. This episode was particularly conversational, with Fahrusha contributing some of her experiences to the mix. The short take-away from this is that people who have experiences with owls in the wild often also have UFO experiences and many of them may be abductees as well. Some folks see owls that are impossibly big to be flesh and blood owls. Under hypnosis these people sometimes find that what they saw were actually small grey aliens.

Though Mike’s research centers around the owl/UFO connection, Fahrusha drew parallels to other animal/UFO connections involving raccoons, cats and opossums among others. Fahrusha is a city chick, but she is a good spotter of birds and mammals in the wild. Owls have the best hearing of all birds and excellent night vision as well. Their feathers are specially equipped for silent flight. Cats and dogs also see more than the spectrum visible to humans, and may be sensitive to invisible intruders. All human companions of cats have been unnerved by the felines staring intently at something the human cannot see.

#72 George P. Hansen the Trickster

Fahrusha and Kate Valentine were pleased to welcome illustrious author and paranormal investigator George P. Hansen to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. There was so much to speak about that it was difficult to fit it into an hour and fifteen minutes. Hansen looks at the paranormal from the view of anthropology and skepticism but never debunking. He views many of the phenomena of the paranormal as being affected and sometimes caused by the Trickster. He gives two compatible definitions of who or what the Trickster is, the first of which concerns the folk traditions of many, if not all, indigenous cultures around the world. Some of the famous folk tricksters are Loki of Norse mythology, the Coyote of the American Southwest, Iktomi (spider) of the Lakota and Ananzi (spider) of the Caribbean and Africa. These Tricksters are shapeshifters so they can appear in different guises. In his words “The trickster archetype is not designated by immediately observable physical features.  Rather it is a more abstract constellation of characteristics that is usually personified (i.e., identified with a person or animal).”  His second definition is a bit more ephemeral to explain. It includes many aspects of psi including boundary crossing, irrationality, fakery, change and instability and it is, by its very nature, non-binary.

We tackle many subjects, especially including UFOs. For instance these objects are often seen to be shapeshifting, and some might be interstellar or not, and of course they may have more than one origin and they often appear at times of great change. The purported occupants may lie to humans or their communication may seem absurd or be misunderstood. They often appear to people when those people are in altered states of consciousness, as in the liminal state.

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha enjoyed welcoming back Irena Scott, PhD, to “Shattered Reality Podcast” for our seventy first show. Dr. Scott has written five books and the latest one, Inside the Lightning Ball: Scientific Study of Lifelong UFO Experiences, is autobiographical in that it concerns her own paranormal experiences regarding UFOs, orbs and ball lightning. She wanted to be very clear that when critics and debunkers say that scientists do not see UFOs the critics are misinformed. In the book, she also elucidates why she thinks some people are multiple experiencers.

Irena Scott started having UFO experiences as a young child in a rural farm house when an unknown glowing metallic object flew around the attic bedroom she shared with her sister. Her sister, mother and cousin corroborated the report. She had a bizarre lightning experience in Texas, where she also witnessed what was probably the famous Marfa lights. She had many UFO sightings in Ohio while working for the DIA. She recounted for us a second sighting she had while driving near Boston with her sister. Again her sister backed up the report.

I believe that Dr. Scott is doing a great service by revealing her sightings and experiences. The more credible folks that do this, the less likely experiencers will be ridiculed and maligned because of these events. No longer will scientists fear the loss of their hard-won professional positions. I especially like that she does not speculate overly much on what these phenomena might be. She is confident to say “I don’t know .” when appropriate. For instance, sometimes orbs seem to be related to electrical storms while at other times they seem more related to UFOs or even nature spirits. There is a need for these phenomena to be studied with an open mind by those that haven’t come to a premature conclusion.

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha were very pleased to welcome Dr. John B. Alexander back to Shattered Reality Podcast to discuss his new book Reality Denied, Firsthand Experiences with Things That Can’t Happen- But Did. This book is an autobiography of many of Alexander’s paranormal experiences and extraordinary events. He is the author of a number of other books and articles including UFOs: Myths, Conspiracies and Realities and is the recipient of awards too numerous to mention.

We spoke about UFOs, trans-species communication with dolphins and unusual human skills including metal bending. The book is filled with fascinating and mind-bending experiences, exotic places visited, and extraordinary people met, but the takeaway is the lifelong quest and metamorphosis of a curious individual who began his career as an infantry private who rose to Army colonel, received a PhD, became a non-lethal weapons expert and more recently delved into shamanism. He calls for more research into the nature of consciousness and these things that can’t happen but do. He fears that today’s paradigm of materialism precludes young scientists from researching the true nature of consciousness. He encourages more open-mindedness in science and hopes that young researchers will have the courage to explore areas beyond the soul-crushing confines of mechanistic materialism as have many quantum physicists.

#56 Was Gerry Irwin a UFO Abductee?

Fahrusha was very happy to welcome David Booher, author of No Return, The Gerry Irwin Story, UFO Abduction or Covert Operation? to Shattered Reality Podcast. Booher has penned an exceptionally well written and well researched book on the extraordinary experiences of an Army soldier in 1959. Before David Booher did his research, everyone in the ufological community thought that Gerry Irwin had completely disappeared. Booher found Irwin, alive and reasonably well in his native Idaho.

While on leave from Fort Bliss in 1959, Gerry Irwin saw an unidentified falling object in Utah during his drive toward his army base in Texas. Thinking it was a plane in the process of crashing he left his car by the side of the road and headed into the bush to help. He was found by a local sheriff face down in the February snow. He subsequently suffered from extreme amnesia and went AWOL on two occasions. Those are the bare bones of the story as described in 1962 by Jim and Coral Lorenzen of APRO. We discussed some of the many details the author was able to ferret out.

In our Listeners Corner, June Ponte, an artist and intuitive from New Jersey, tells us of two UFO sightings she experienced in the Garden State. Co-incidentally Gerry Irwin had been a Nike missile technologist at the time of his initial experience and June Ponte had been protesting nuclear power directly before one of her sightings.
