#70 Rich Martini: Life Between Lives

Richard Martini, filmmaker and author of FlipSide and other works about between life experiences.

Fahrusha and Kate Valentine were happy to welcome Rich Martini, who both wrote the book FlipSide and made the film “FlipSide”, which examine the phenomena of life between lives, wherein people visit a spiritual realm between physical lives to evaluate the past life and plan the next life. The person whose work this film and book concentrates on is the late hypnotherapist Dr. Michael Newton, who passed away ¬†in September 2016.

The late Dr. Michael Newton, hypnotherapist and author of a number of books on the “life between lives” phenomena.

In the years since his making the film “FlipSide” Rich Martini has branched out into after-death communication. However for this podcast he demonstrated with Fahrusha how the life between lives process might work. This demonstration was a total departure from our usual programming. Rich is extremely enthusiastic and upbeat. Fahrusha verifies that she had seen what might amount to her “Council” in a stadium-like setting on several deep meditations at the Monroe Institute and elsewhere. We at SRP would like to know what our listeners think about the process that Rich Martini took Fahrusha through. She did exactly what he told her at the beginning and said the first thing that came into her mind. Does this constitute proof? Our jury is out. We would like to know your opinion on this.

Fahrusha found out about Life Between Lives therapy through a client who was quite taken with it. Several years ago she read one of his books and listened to an audio from the Michael Newton Institute and she thought the idea was fascinating but frightening. She didn’t want to die and have to go to school in the afterlife. She didn’t want to come back to play parts on Earth. Having studied the works of Robert Monroe rather thoroughly, she worried that if she might be caught in what Monroe called “the belief system territories”. That references the idea that one goes to the place that one believes in after death.

In addition to FlipSide, Rich Martini’s books include It’s A Wonderful Afterlife Volumes I and II, and Hacking the Afterlife.

We were thrilled that Rich Martini came on our podcast to explain the whole process to us and as Kate Valentine opines “We are all dying to find out.” ūüėČ

FlipSide, the book.

#69 David B. Metcalfe – Folklore of the Strange

David B. Metcalfe, Folklore of the Strange

Listen HERE

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha welcome paranormal researcher, David B. Metcalfe, to”Shattered Reality Podcast”. David is currently working with former guest, Andrew Chesnut, on a follow-up book about Santa Muerte. He is also the editor in chief of¬†Threshold: Journal of Interdisciplinary Consciousness Studies (TJICS), a new, free, online-only, open access journal of the Windbridge Research Center. You may remember the Windbridge researchers, Dr. Julie Beischel and Mark Boccuzzi from past episodes of SRP. David studied Philosophy and Folklore at Elmhurst College in Illinois. His day job is digital communications and he is a two dimensional artist as well.

We spoke about the Santa Muerte (Saint Death) cult emanating from Mexico. The belief spans the Americas today. The tradition is widespread and runs the gamut from blessings to curses, some of which can be very violent. He and Craig Williams are involved in a book project to support Haitian artists in the Voodoo style. Listener Will had questions about the definitions of Satanism and Santa Muerte which David answered. We spoke about how we in the US seldom see dead bodies whereas in other cultures such as those of Latin America and India, it is common to see the bodies of the dead. It may not be healthy for us to almost never see a dead body because it allows Americans to deny the psychological truth of Death.

Other topics covered included UFOs, abductions, To The Stars Academy, the Christian faith healing practice of praying and talking away the fire (burns), Native American Skinwalkers, Pennsylvania Dutch Pow-Wow tradition and other communal practices. In addition, David writes for Medium and runs a website about Santa Muerte with Andrew Chesnut called Skeleton Saint.

An example of David B. Metcalfe’s art.

Note: Dennis Kuchinich is the former Senator whose name we forgot.

#63 Dr. Julie Beischel Medium Research

Dr. Julie Beischel of the Windbridge Research Center in Arizona

Fahrusha and Kate Valentine were happy to welcome Dr. Julie Beischel to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. She¬†received her doctorate in Pharmacology and Toxicology with a minor in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona in 2003.¬† She is the co-founder and Director of Research at the Windbridge Institute for Applied Research in Human Potential and is at the forefront of modern studies into mediumship. Currently, part of the Institute has spun off into the Windbridge Research Center,¬†whose mission is to ease suffering around dying, death, and what comes next, by performing rigorous scientific research and sharing the results and other customized content with practitioners, clinicians, scientists, and the general public.

Survival of consciousness is the key element in understanding mediumship. In this model the brain is seen to be akin to a radio receiver and not the seat of consciousness. The mind or the consciousness is thought to be non-local and exists beyond the death of the body. Mediums are psychics that concentrate on obtaining information about the deceased. American mediums are 90% female. In Dr. Beischel’s research, the mediums that were tested are blinded to any knowledge of the deceased person or the sitter beyond the first name of the deceased. The results of the experiments were all statistically significant in favor of the validity of mediumship. In parapsychology there is a classic debate regarding where the mediumistic information might be coming from. Does it come from so-called “super-psi” (the pool of information available through psychic functioning), or from a deceased person’s after death consciousness? Because I (Fahrusha) do not like binary choices, I also posited that some information might come from non-human disembodied entities, not constricted by space and time. ¬†We discussed the relationship of auto-immune diseases to being a medium or a psychic, versus the relationship of childhood abuse or trauma to disease in general.

Beischel has written several very accessible e-books including From the Mouths of Mediums Vol.1 Experiencing Communication, Meaningful Messages: Making the Most of Your Mediumship Reading, and Among Mediums: A Scientist’s Quest for Answers.

Note: Tom Butler was our guest who spoke about EVP (Electronic Voice Production) in conjunction with messages from the deceased.

#61 Fahrusha and Kate Valentine Talk About Shattering Reality

Co-hosts of Shattered Reality Podcast

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha, co-hosts of Shattered Reality Podcast

Our guest for this episode took ill at the last moment and we wish him well. So Kate Valentine and Fahrusha decided to discuss their impressions of cryptozoology and the reasons why people in general are interested in the paranormal. Fahrusha related her experience of seeing three unusual black butterflies in three unusual places in one day. (Note: The stopover was at Dulles airport, not Charlotte.) They discussed their ideas about Sasquatch and the unfolding story of possible UFO disclosure by the “To The Stars Academy”. Kate recollected her prior interview with Frank Faschino concerning the Flatwoods Monster.

After sixty episodes, Kate and Fahrusha decided to simply talk to each other. The audio engineer of the show mentioned having seen a large bird with orange skin and a mammalian face. Fahrusha read a very thoughtful letter she had received from listener Freeman about his views on alien intelligence. While not disagreeing with Freeman’s premise both Fahrusha and Kate’s points of view held for wider possibilities, that is, while his model was quite plausible and well constructed, there is room in the Universe for a wider diversity of life. Freeman’s letter can be read below in the comments.

Like many others around the US and the world, we here at Shattered Reality Podcast are waiting patiently for the next word from the New York Times via Leslie Kean et. al. or the members of “To The Stars Academy” on what the Defense Intelligence Agency (D.I.A.) and Robert Bigelow might have discovered about the nature of the phenomena in the skies seen by millions of witnesses across the globe since the beginning of recorded history. These sightings have become more intense since the dawn of the nuclear age.

#52 Brenda Dunne- the PEAR Lab and More

Brenda Dunne, Co-Author of Molecular Memories and lab manager at the PEAR Lab

to listen click HERE.

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha welcome Brenda Dunne lab manager of the PEAR (Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research) Lab to Shattered Reality Podcast. Fahrusha was lucky to meet Brenda Dunne and Dr. Robert Jahn at this year’s SSE Symposium at Yale in June. Brenda Dunne was given the Founder’s Award this year at the Symposium.

In this episode, Brenda talks in detail about the workings of the PEAR Lab, remote viewing, REGs (Random Event Generators) and RNGs (Random Number Generators), and what it is like working for more than 40 years with Dr. Robert Jahn. She also spoke of the beginnings of the SSE. Fahrusha and Kate Valentine are both Associate Members. Much of the Lab’s work with the REGs centered around getting a statistically significant result from the machine when a person or persons concentrated on doing so, or when an unusual and emotionally affecting event occurred in the environment, locally or worldwide.

Since the closing of the PEAR Lab, Dunne and Jahn have continued their work together at the International Consciousness Research Laboratories (ICRL). The ICRL publishes books on consciousness research. Together, Jahn and Dunne have written five books together including Molecular Memories (2015), Quirks of the Quantum Mind (2012), Consciousness and the Source of Reality (2011), Filters and Reflections: Perspectives on Reality with Zachary Jones (2009), and Margins of Reality (1987).

Fahrusha spoke about a precognitive dream she had about being in New Haven directly before the SSE Symposium.

Brenda Dunne, M.S. holds degrees in psychology and the humanities from  Mundelein College in Chicago (1976), and a M.S. in Human Development from the  University of Chicago (1979).

#49 Dr. Phillip Davidson and EVT

Dr. Phillip Davidson, the originator of EVT

To listen CLICK HERE

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha are pleased to welcome Dr. Phillip Davidson to “Shattered Reality Podcast.” Phil started his professional life as an IT professional and spent a number of years at a high level job in Hong Kong. When he returned to the United Kingdom, he decided to retrain and earned a PhD in Psychology. He had a keen interest in the nature of consciousness and became a grief counselor. Coincidentally, like our last guest, Dr. Milton Wainwright, Phil hails from Sheffield, England. Fahrusha had the pleasure of meeting and conversing with Phil at a Monroe Institute’s Professional Division Seminar.

Over the years of being a grief counselor he noted how many individuals he interacted with were unable to move forward after the death of a loved one, particularly if the loved one was a child. Phil takes people from the waking state of consciousness to a place where they can access their unconscious. EVT is that process. Through EVT, Enhanced Visualization Technique, people are able to leave their bodies, meet their higher selves, and communicate with their departed loved ones. Loss of body image or proprioception is key to EVT. With EVT one can stay conscious during the entire experience of exploration of the unconsciousness.

Dr. Davidson specializes in using his technique with grieving people, but psychonaut explorers can greatly benefit from EVT as well. With EVT the grieving individual can learn to communicate with the departed loved one at will and without the services of a medium. We at “Shattered Reality Podcast” like the idea of this method because it appears to bridge the gap between a person’s unconscious and the One that is all individual consciousnesses. We ourselves have not sampled EVT but would certainly like to do so.

Dr. Phillip Davidson can be contacted via email at: phillip.davidson@btinternet.com

#47 Surviving Death with Leslie Kean

Leslie Kean, author of Surviving Death

To listen Click HERE.

Kate Valentine and Fahrusha are proud to welcome Leslie Kean, author of both Surviving Death: A Journalist Investigates Evidence For An Afterlife and UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record , to Shattered Reality Podcast. We have  a very lively discussion about the implications of a number of phenomena which suggest survival of individual consciousness after death.

Kean’s new book surveys parapsychological studies of a variety of classes of evidential experiences and introduces the reader to Kean’s own personal search for answers to the puzzle of whether¬†consciousness survives¬†death. There are chapters within the book authored by a variety of credible researchers who are tops in their fields. Topics include the past life experiences of young children, near death experiences (NDEs), end of life experiences, and experiences with mediums of various sorts.

If you have had an experience which suggests life after death such as communication from a recently deceased loved one or perhaps you yourself have had an NDE, and you would like to share that experience on the show, please use the contact form below:
