#112 The Case Against Reality with Donald Hoffman

Donald Hoffman, PhD author of The Case Against Reality: Why Evolution Hid the Truth from Our Eyes

To listen click HERE

On October 14, 2020 Fahrusha spoke with Donald Hoffman, PhD, author of the amazing book, The Case Against Reality: Why Evolution Hid the Truth from Our Eyes. Fahrusha had heard several broadcasts wherein Dr. Hoffman had proposed his controversial theory about the nature of the material world and the time space continuum. She was fascinated because his mathematically based position was somewhat like what she had intuited.

Dr. Hoffman proposes that the world we see is a construct of our consciousness and the choices as to what we perceive are controlled by our evolutional necessities: nourishment, reproduction and survival. He details how that might work and concedes that it is a theory and is willing to be proven wrong, or more likely, have his theory improved and refined. He furthermore echoes quantum physicists when he says, “reality is doomed”.

Fahrusha wondered how his point of view might affect parapsychology and he was not enthusiastic. To him parapsychology was not moving forward due to not having a mathematical theory to prove or disprove. Fahrusha could definitely see how parapsychologists were repeating similar experiments over the course of the last 150 years and not influencing skeptics and debunkers, even though their results were solid. However the skeptics promulgate a harsh materialist viewpoint despite advances in physics that prove otherwise.

#110 Witchcraft with Susan Demeter

Susan Demeter’s book Cosmic Witch: Magic, Witchcraft, and the Supernatural

To listen click HERE.

On September 15, 2020 Fahrusha welcomed Susan Demeter back to “Shattered Reality Podcast” for an interesting conversation. Her new book is Cosmic Witch: Magic, Witchcraft, and the Supernatural.

At the beginning of the show Fahrusha talked a little bit about the relationship of animism to witchcraft. Many people around the world are still maligned and persecuted for practicing what is perceived as witchcraft. Susan is very brave to wear the appellation “witch” proudly. Because the word “witch” means different things to different people, Fahrusha broke it down to its most basic tenet, a tenet that runs through almost all of the various varieties of witchcraft. That tenet is animism, the attribution of consciousness to plants, inanimate objects, celestial objects and natural phenomena.

Susan began by speaking about her awesome experiences with UFOs and that dovetailed nicely into the practice of witchcraft. Her book is filled with her personal experiences which are extremely relatable.

She espouses strong powerful womanhood, empowering others, and a sex positive point of view as well. We spoke a bit of a mutual friend, Stephanie Quick, a practitioner of red magic, sometimes called sex magic. Fahrusha spoke about the vilification and denigration of Mary Magdalene by the patriarchal Roman Catholic Church.

There is an Italian language version of the book called La Strega. Both versions of the book are published by Due Torre in Italy.

Fahrusha apologizes for the quality of her audio. Being out of Bill’s excellent audio studio due to the lockdown has been difficult, but she feels it is necessary to persevere in the face of adversity.

Fahrusha invites listeners to submit their anomalous stories for inclusion in “the Listeners’ Corner”.

#109 Michael Grosso, Ph.D. and Miracles

Michael Grosso, Ph.D. author of Smile of the Universe

On September 8, 2020 Fahrusha was very happy to welcome philosopher and friend of the show Michael Grosso Ph.D. to “Shattered Reality Podcast” for his third visit. His newest book is called Smile of the Universe: Miracles in the Age of Disbelief. Grounded in true stories and matters of fact, Michael Grosso argues for the reality of a great Mind and for the human ability to communicate with that Mind. The first amazing thing we discussed is that the word ‘smile’ and the word “miracle’ come from the same Sanskrit root ‘smi’.

Many miraculous topics were covered. Padre Pio is a 20th Century Roman Catholic Saint who is credited with abundant miracles, many of which were attested to by sources outside the Catholic Church. One of his charisms or siddhis was the ‘odor of sanctity’, a lovely smell both he and St. Joseph of Copertino were said to exude. The Padre was said to be able to read minds and bilocate.

Savants bridge the void between materialists and philosophical idealists because they exhibit skills they had no way of learning conventionally and these skills are undeniable. The Indian Ramanujan was a gifted wizard of mathematics with little traditional schooling. Derek Amato acquired high level musical skills after a head injury. Others start speaking in languages heretofore unknown to them.

We discussed axial ages and portal areas such as Western NY in 19th Century which was the birthplace of spiritualist movement and the Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormons).

René Descartes and Isaac Newton who today are regarded as scientific materialists, both had deep spiritual influences and precognitive dreams.

We thank listener Chris from NJ for his wonderful dream UFO healing account and hope to hear more from him. If you have an anomalous true story you’d like to share on “Shattered Reality Podcast”, please contact us at fahrusha@fahrusha.com. All polite comments are welcomed. #108 Sean McNamara & Michael Redmond

Author Sean McNamara

To listen Click HERE

On July 28, 2020 Fahrusha welcomed Sean McNamara to “Shattered Reality Podcast.” Sean is a meditation teacher, a remote viewer and an author of several books. Fahrusha and Sean discussed his autobiographical book Renegade Mystic: The Pursuit of Spiritual Freedom Through Consciousness Exploration.

Sean grew up in a family that lived in different parts of the world which was exciting, culturally expanding but sometimes led to a feeling of displacement. Because of some medical emergencies, he feared death. Once stateside, as a young adult he sought community and spiritual enlightenment, but learned that gurus can often have clay feet.

“For most of my life I’ve been seeking, spiritually,” said Sean. So with those words “Shattered Reality Podcast” listeners know they will have something very much in common with Sean McNamara.

Michael Redmond was a fascinating guest on the Listeners’ Corner portion of the show with his account of a double sighting of a UFO in NJ. It was a double sighting in two ways. He saw it with his wife and they saw it twice on the same evening. Michael is a distinguished journalist and runs the Facebook page Fringe Quest which is a roundup of paranormal news.

To end the show, Fahrusha told of an unusual case of telekinesis in her sleeping quarters. Perhaps it was her reading material or perhaps it was the late Alan Colmes.

The lamp lifted up and fell in a most unusual manner whilst Fahrusha slept.
Nothing broke!

We welcome your polite comments on this page and invite you to submit your paranormal experiences to fahrusha@fahrusha.com. You can tell them on the show yourself or have Fahrusha read your account. Thanks for listening!

#107 Alex Tsakiris and Evil

On July 8, 2020 Fahrusha and Alex Tsakiris recorded their podcasts simultaneously which is a first for “Shattered Reality Podcast”. Alex’s “Skeptiko” is featured in video on YouTube, where he showed a picture of Fahrusha on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, much to her surprise.

Then primarily they went on to discuss the thesis of Alex’s new book Why Evil Matters: How Science Religion & Spirituality Have Failed Us. Fahrusha pressed the point that to truly understand evil, one must look beyond humans to other sentient beings including especially mammals, but really much farther to beings such as trees and astronomical bodies like Our Sun. Consciousness pervades the Universe. The Universe is Consciousness.

Alex, while more human oriented, explained a good deal of his position, using as an example ritual sexual abuse of children. No sane person would not see that as evil. They also talked about religion and how differently people interpret religious scripture such as the Bible. Fahrusha felt that to get the most accurate view it would be instructive to study it in the ancient Aramaic form. She also pointed out that Satan as it is now defined, did not make an appearance as the ultimate evil in the early versions of the Old Testament and the duality with the Supreme Being is a more modern concept.

Alex Tsakiris’s new book Why Evil Matters: How Science Religion & Spirituality Have Failed Us

Alex has a brilliant way of encouraging people to expound on their ideas. They talked about the need or lack thereof for religion in general. While some people like Fahrusha and Alex spend lots of time focusing on extended consciousness, others are focused on careers like baseball and dentistry. Fahrusha felt that some people looked to others to provide good spiritual guidance, many religious leaders may have not provided the best possible stewardship. Much as one would not want to entrust their teeth to a less than superlative dentist perhaps some of these folks are not being well served in the spiritual area.

They also discussed some of the guests they both interviewed.

Please feel free to post polite comments on this page. We want to hear from you.

#105 Thiago Luiz Ticchetti- UFOs in Brazil

the author and guest

Thiago Luiz Ticchetti author of UFO Contacts in Brazil

To listen click HERE.

On May 19, 2020, Fahrusha spoke with Thiago Ticchetti from Brazil about UFOs. His new book is called UFO Contacts in Brazil and it is his first in English. It is over 500 pages long and is replete with many amazing photos and illustrations. He has written ten other books in Portuguese all about UFOs or OVNI as they are referred to in Spanish and Portuguese. People in the English speaking world may have misconceptions about UFOs in Latin America because of language issues.

Thiago explained that a recent report about a crashed saucer just north of Rio de Janeiro in the town of Mage was a total hoax and he tells us exactly why.

He has been interested in UFOs since childhood and he tells us about an early sighting he had. His father was an officer in the Brazilian Air Force and allowed him to sketch from the photos of the classified files of the Brazilian government. Later he was very inspired by the work of both A J Gevaerd, a Brazilian ufologist, and Jacques Vallee a French-American writer on the subject and physicist.

We discussed the various types of beings seen in Brazil, the most common of which is a variation of “the greys” well known in the US. These have a white pallor and different faces. The first famous abduction case in Brazil was that of a farmer named Antônio Villas Boas (1934–1991) whose case occurred in 1957 and included a sexual interaction with a female being. It occurred several years earlier than the Betty and Barney Hill abduction in 1961 in New England.

Children in the Sagrada Familia neighborhood had a credible sighting of a cyclops robot that came out of a UFO. It was credible because the otherwise adventurous kids totally changed their habits after their terrifying experience.

We also talked about the Varginha Incident and what happened on the island of Colares, which killed a number of denizens.

Thiago Luiz Ticchetti is an adherent of the “nuts and bolts” theory of UFOs, believing they come from other worlds in space.

#103 Kathleen Marden and the UFO Debunkers

Picture of the authors of the book being discussed
Authors Kathleen Marden and the late Stanton Friedman

To listen Click HERE

On April 14, 2020 Fahrusha welcomed Kathleen Marden to “Shattered Reality Podcast” to discuss the UFO debunkers and their origins as portrayed in her last book with ufologist and nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, Fact, Fiction and Flying Saucers. It was her second outing with “Shattered Reality Podcast” and we hope she will return again. Hear her first interview here.

Our listenership represents a diverse group of individuals which include ufologists, parapsychologists, and others who have an intense interest in anomalous phenomena. In this interview we have endeavored to present an instructive look at UFO debunkers and how their activities relate to the naysayers in the area of parapsychology as well.

Debunkers and naysayers have a variety of motives for their activities which we explore. The nastiest of all the debunkers in the UFO field was the late Philip J. Klass, a writer for Aviation Week and Space Technology. He used every dirty trick in the book to denigrate researchers and ruin their lives, while insinuating himself into the workings of Project Blue Book and the Condon Report (1966-1968), both US government funded research projects. One of the best ufologists of the time, Dr. James E. McDonald, was driven to suicide by Klass’s relentless character assassination. Stanton Friedman, Marden’s co-author, was able to thoroughly research Klass and fight back.

#102 UFO Experience as a Parapsychological Event

Eric Ouellet, Ph.D.

To listen Click HERE

On March 3, 2020 Fahrusha welcomed two guests to “Shattered Reality Podcast”. The first was a lovely woman, “Jennifer”, a listener who is personally known to Fahrusha. She related an amazing synchronicity involving a new baby, a generous half sister, and the half sister’s recently deceased mother. At the 1:47 point in the recording you will hear what sounds like a male voice breaking into the recording saying “eemah-ho”. We here at “Shattered Reality Podcast” have no idea of the source of this voice. “Jennifer’s” uncle had passed the night before, but she says it was not his voice. This remains a mystery.

After that otherworldly start, our second very impressive guest, was Dr. Eric Ouellet, military scientist and author of Illuminations: The UFO Experience as a Parapsychological Event, published by Anomalist Books. He has a Ph.D. in Sociology from York University, Toronto. Dr. Ouellet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Defence Studies with the Royal Military College of Canada, physically located at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto. He began the interview by explaining the reasons for the military’s interest in the UFO topic.

Eric’s personal hypothesis about UFOs stems from the sociological model of German physicist and parapsychologist, Walter von Lucadou, Ph.D. concerning poltergeist phenomena and we discussed poltergeist cases for a brief interval before applying that hypothesis to UFOs. Fahrusha mentioned that she did not think all UFO cases must of necessity stem from the same source. Perhaps a few might be extraterrestrial while others might be a co-creation of the human psyche with higher forces. Eric Ouellet did not see the need for other “higher” forces to be employed, that the human mind is capable of creating these visible artifacts which can be seen by numbers of individuals.

He went on to explain how the Rendlesham Forest incident in Great Britain over the Christmas Holiday of 1980 could be explained through the von Lucadou sociological model used for poltergeists. Fahrusha asked Eric a few enlightening questions which were sent in by Maryam, a mutual acquaintance and “Shattered Reality Podcast” listener. Dr. Ouellet is currently involved in a collaborative work about Marian apparitions. He is a professional member of the Parapsychological Association and maintains a blog where he explores various ideas about psi and social dynamics at: http://parasociology.blogspot.com.

#101 Asian Shamanism

Kevin B. Turner is the Director for Asia of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS), founded by Michael Harner.

On February 11, 2020, Kevin B. Turner of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies joined Fahrusha to speak about Asian shamanism. Though born in Arizona, USA, Kevin has lived in Asia for over 20 years and currently has a shamanic healing practice in Bali, Indonesia and Kyoto, Japan. He has written the informative book Sky Shamans of Mongolia: Meetings with Remarkable Healers.

Cover of the book by Kevin Turner Sky Shamans of Mongolia: Meetings with Remarkable Healers.

The shamans in present-day Mongolia are plentiful and most fall within three general traditions: the Khalkhs (the ethnic majority in Mongolia whose shamans have been somewhat influenced by Buddhism), the Buryat (inside northern Mongolia and across the Russian Federation border in the Republic of Buryatia and influenced by Siberian shamanism) and the Darkhad (from the remote region of Khuvsgul and perhaps the most original form of Mongolian shamanism). Kevin visited members of all of these groups. He received a remarkable healing and was tested as a shaman, as a result of which he participated in amazing and arcane rituals.

Shaman Kevin B. Turner

Shamanism is widely practiced around the world but is most prevalent in places wherein the inhabitants are animists. Animism is the belief that natural objects, natural phenomena, and the universe itself possess souls and the belief that natural objects have souls that may exist apart from their material bodies. Shamanism is not a religion but a practice of Magick.

Fahrusha is facilitating a dreamwork course lead by Dale E. Graff, a physicist and a former Director of the D.I.A.’s Project STARGATE (remote viewing) at Fallbrook Farms in Geneseo, NY scheduled for July 16-19, 2020.

#99 Séance with Shannon Taggart

Séance by award winning photographer Shannon Taggart

On January 21, 2020 Fahrusha welcomed award winning photographer Shannon Taggart to “Shattered Reality Podcast” to discuss her amazing book, SÉANCE. We discussed her photographs and how she came to document séances and the Spiritualist religion.

The book is broken into three parts: 1) Foreward by Dan Ackroyd, Introductions by Andreas Fischer, Tony Oursler and Shannon Taggart herself; 2) 150 different images taken over 20 years; 3) an image index written by Shannon which includes stories about each image in the book.

One of the amazing spirit photographs.

Fahrusha spoke about her graduate school experience with a very frightening spirit photograph taken accidentally by her thesis advisor Ed Pramuk, a wonderful artist.

Spiritualism is the first religion to use photography rather than painting for its iconography. Shannon brings together visual semiotics, surrealism, feminism, religion, spirituality and how media shapes reality. We at “Shattered Reality Podcast” spoke about how media shapes the perception of history in our interview with Diana Walsh Pasulka last year.

Shannon praised the work of George P. Hansen and his work on the Trickster. We discussed fraud in séances, and physical mediumship versus mental mediumship. Infrared photography is used by Taggart in some of her work.

Shannon Taggart, author and photographer.

Errata: The Ghostbusters actor is Harold Ramis not Harold Ramey. Apologies to Mr. Ramis.
