Kate Valentine and Fahrusha, co-hosts of Shattered Reality Podcast

Our guest for this episode took ill at the last moment and we wish him well. So Kate Valentine and Fahrusha decided to discuss their impressions of cryptozoology and the reasons why people in general are interested in the paranormal. Fahrusha related her experience of seeing three unusual black butterflies in three unusual places in one day. (Note: The stopover was at Dulles airport, not Charlotte.) They discussed their ideas about Sasquatch and the unfolding story of possible UFO disclosure by the “To The Stars Academy”. Kate recollected her prior interview with Frank Faschino concerning the Flatwoods Monster.
After sixty episodes, Kate and Fahrusha decided to simply talk to each other. The audio engineer of the show mentioned having seen a large bird with orange skin and a mammalian face. Fahrusha read a very thoughtful letter she had received from listener Freeman about his views on alien intelligence. While not disagreeing with Freeman’s premise both Fahrusha and Kate’s points of view held for wider possibilities, that is, while his model was quite plausible and well constructed, there is room in the Universe for a wider diversity of life. Like many others around the US and the world, we here at Shattered Reality Podcast are waiting patiently for the next word from the New York Times via Leslie Kean et. al. or the members of “To The Stars Academy” on what the Defense Intelligence Agency (D.I.A.) and Robert Bigelow might have discovered about the nature of the phenomena in the skies seen by millions of witnesses across the globe since the beginning of recorded history. These sightings have become more intense since the dawn of the nuclear age.

Hi Fahrusha,
Just wanted to respond to your comment about the way aliens might think…
In essence, biological intelligence exists to direct efficient movement and actions by incorporating sensory input.
From a scientific point of view, logic, reasoning and rationality are universal; as applied to problem solving, investigation and the scientific method for the development of technology and maths based modelling.
However, general ‘reasoning’ as applied by individuals, can often be used to justify any action or behaviour, but may contain erroneous flaws of logic and incorrect assumptions.
To put it crudely, there could be considered a difference in the application of rationality between the ‘architects of technology’ and the ‘users of technology’.
Rational decisions will include statistical outliers i.e. statistically abnormal decision making, considered unethical, irrational or unacceptable by society in general. This overlaps with concepts of justice, legal systems and protecting the public.
Abnormal thinking can result from biological dysfunctions (including genetic abnormalities & brain damage) or learned behaviours.
Biological ET intelligence is likely to arise from universal evolutionary processes. Competition for resources is likely to promote hunting as a ‘winning strategy’, with the consequence of a natural sensory/intelligence arms race.
Individuals within a self aware, technologically developing species will likely continue to exhibit inherited behaviours relating to self-preservation and basic needs, as well as high level behaviours such as altruism. We might also expect aliens to exhibit behaviours relating to intra-species cultures, as well as fill-in-the-gap concepts provided by faith and various religious ideas.
Abnormal behaviours are in some respects statistical, so one day we might define extreme behaviours in terms of the ‘galactic’ norm for rational beings.
Another aspect to consider is learning and education, and the common subjects that any biological ‘alien’ intelligence would teach subsequent generations.
In practical terms, the necessary intelligence, skills and knowledge required to function and thrive in a physical environment (capable of supporting a tool-making species), provide both a common frame of reference for all species and influence cultures and behaviour. There may be more that we share in common, than keeps us apart.
